About COR Clinic

In 2005, COR Clinic started business as an intimate 900 square foot location at 9393 N. 90th St. Suite #118, Scottsdale, AZ.

The Mission of COR Clinic was: “To provide true patient interaction, better quality care, more knowledgeable therapists using the latest and finest methods…We believe it’s not the number of patient or clients we see. It’s the quality of care we provide.” ©

A higher standard of quality of care was initially accomplished by seeing one patient or personal training client per hour, on a fee-for-service basis. As the sole employee of COR Clinic Michael Branson had to work two jobs Monday through Saturday; one as a personal trainer at a premier health club in Scottsdale from 6 AM to 8 AM, then as owner and physical therapist at COR Clinic from 9 AM to 5 PM and finally back to personal training from 6 PM to 8 PM. After one year of this grueling schedule COR Clinic was able to stand on its own and Dr. Branson discontinued his personal training position and started working 60 hours a week with patients one-on-one at COR Clinic.

COR Clinic took on its first employee, Danika Davis, as a physical therapy trainer and office manager in December 2005. Soon after, COR Clinic was able to hire other employees to fulfill other duties, such as personal trainers, massage therapists, and physical therapists.

In January 2007, COR Clinic expanded to a second 2600 square foot facility in North Scottsdale AKA: The Grayhawk location. This location had up to two physical therapists, a personal trainer and a front office manager. This location also saw one patient per hour on a fee for service basis.

COR Clinic saw significant growth in 2007 to the point where it doubled its staff! But in early 2008, it became clear that a struggling National economy was taking hold of Scottsdale and therefore two locations was unsustainable. Dr. Branson decided to close the Grayhawk location and expand the 90th St. location to 3000 square feet. By consolidating, COR Clinic was able to control costs, provide improved quality control and superior continuity of care.

By early 2008, it became clear that COR Clinic could no longer be a fee-for-service provider of health and wellness care. Therefore, COR Clinic became contracted with multiple insurance companies to allow clients to use their health insurance as a form of payment for services rendered. A major problem arose: Contracted/Capitated In-Network Agreements paid significantly less per patient as compared to our prior fee-for-service ROI. To combat this, we had to increase our patient volume to 2 patients per hour to adjust to the difference in pay. By the end of 2010 we succeeded in doubling our volume.

In 2014, COR Clinic relocated 1 mile South of its 90th st location to 9035 E Pima Center PKWY Suite 4, Scottsdale AZ 85258.

Throughout COR Clinic’s history its goals has always been to provide the highest quality of care and to stick its moto: “…it’s not the number of patient or clients we see. It’s the quality of care we provide.”

Starting November 2017, Dr. Branson will be on leave from COR Clinic through November 2018.
